Here’s the truth: Eco Pro doesn’t need to “win bids.”
They are on First American Home Warranty’s short list because they already know the game. Both sides benefit — and the homeowner pays the price.
Eco Pro will absolutely give you a breakdown.
That’s not the problem.
The problem is that their breakdown is packed with completely unnecessary add-ons that:
are not required by code
do not match field conditions
are not needed for installation
are priced at up to 250% above RSMeans industry averages
and they refuse to remove them, even when confronted with clear evidence
They just keep repeating the same generic excuses, pretending these add-ons are “required” when they’re anything but.
Meanwhile, their “lead tech” — the only person who can allegedly explain anything — is never available. You can call for days and get nowhere. It’s almost like they hide him on purpose.
And once you push back on the inflated, unnecessary charges, the home warranty company suddenly steps in and tells you that you must either:
Capitulate to Eco Pro’s padded charges, or
Take a “cash-out” that doesn’t even cover the cost of the parts, let alone the labor.
That’s when it becomes obvious that Eco Pro isn’t just a bad contractor — they’re part of a system that feels engineered to drain value from the homeowner.
Eco Pro keeps the warranty company’s costs low.
The warranty company lets Eco Pro push inflated add-ons onto the customer.
They both win.
You lose.
This entire setup gives the strong appearance of collusion between Eco Pro and First American Home Warranty. Not proven fraud, but borderline fraudulent in how predictable and coordinated the pattern is.
Eco Pro refuses to revise unnecessary charges.
They refuse to acknowledge actual field conditions.
They refuse to apply industry-standard pricing.
They refuse to act like a professional HVAC contractor in any capacity.
